One clock for every coach on the course.
Start it at the gun, stand at a mile marker or the finish with your own phone, and tap your runners as they go by. Splits, paces, places and PRs are there before the last runner is in, and the roster is encrypted on your phone before it reaches us.

One race clock on every coach's phone.A tap per runner at each checkpoint.

A course is miles long and a team has one coach. A link puts a helper at the two.
I've timed meets from out on the course. You can't hear the gun from the back half, and you don't know how anyone did until the race is over. Now the clock starts for everyone at once, and every split shows up as it happens.Ryan H
The mile
A tap per runner, at each checkpoint.
The next name is usually on top. Runners still to come are ordered by when they're likely to arrive.
Five through at once? Mark a time for each and put the names on afterward.
Any race from a mile to 10K, with mile markers and the finish as checkpoints.3

Results
Splits, pace, place and PRs, as the taps come in.
Segment times, pace per mile, places and personal records, the moment the last runner is through. Import last season's results to start the PRs.
It times your team's runners. It isn't meet management: no bibs, no chute order, no official scoring for other schools.
Coaches, parents, one clock
A parent takes the two-mile from a link.
Other coaches log from any checkpoint; every tap lands in the same race.
A meet link gives a helper one job: the start, a mile marker or the finish, in any browser, no app, no account; you make it from the race's menu, Invite to this meet. A follow link shows the race as it happens.
A meet link shows that race's runners by name (last names too, if you entered them) to whoever has it, so give it to your own helpers and not the whole sideline.
How it's different.
Stopwatch apps time runners on one phone. Results sites publish what the meet's timer sends them. This is the coach's own clock, shared.
| Feature | ClubClock Cross Country | Stopwatch apps on one phone | Results sites and meet timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| One clock on several coaches' phones | Yes | No | Timing hardware, run by the meet |
| Splits at the mile markers | A tap per runner, by any coach or helper | On the one phone that's there | Only where the meet has mats |

| Family follows live | One link, no app, no account | No | Where the meet publishes live results |
| Who can read the roster | Only your coaches' phones; a meet link shows one race's runners | Only that phone | The site, which may show ads unless you pay |

Built for a course with no coverage.
Saved on the phone first, sent when there's signal. A course with no coverage still works; the taps sync when you're back. Every version of a team is kept for 30 days.
- 1 tapper runner at each checkpoint
- 0.1 sthe race clock keeps tenths, like the watch
- 30 daysevery version of a team is kept
- 0runners' names our server can read
What our server can and can't see.
Runners, races and results are encrypted on your phone before they're saved, with a key we never receive: the key rides inside the invite link, in the part of the address a browser never sends to any server, ours included. We store the encrypted file and can't open it. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
Encrypted on your phone. We can't read it.
- Runners: names, group (girls or boys) and class year
- Races, splits, results and PRs
- Team settings
Readable on our side.
- Your email and name, for signing in
- Which coaches belong to the team, with role, name and email
- Feedback you send from the app Encrypted so that only we can read it, not with your team's key.
- Request logs for a limited time
No lock-screen cards and no usage counts in this app. Everything above is spelled out in the privacy policy.
Questions a coach asks first.
Does a parent helper need the app?
No. A meet link opens in any browser with no app and no account, and gives that person one checkpoint. A follow link lets the rest of the family watch the race.
What if two coaches tap the same race?
That's the point of it. Each coach logs from their own phone at their own checkpoint, and every tap lands in the same race on the same clock.
Does it work where the course has no coverage?
Yes. Taps are saved on the phone first and sent when a bar comes back. Each phone measures how far its clock is off whenever it has signal, so taps made out of coverage still line up.
Is it meet management?
No. It times your team's runners. Bibs, chute order and official scoring for other schools stay with the meet.
What does it cost?
Free while in testing. After launch, one low price per team, with every coach, parent and grandparent included. No per-user fees, no ads. Nobody's data is sold.
What happens to the team if I stop?
The other coaches on the team keep it. When you delete your account, the app shows what happens to each of your teams before anything is deleted.

Notes
- ClubClock Cross Country still runs under its first name, CourseClock, at courseclock.r26.dev; it moves to a ClubClock address later and your team comes along. It works in Safari or Chrome; add it to your home screen to open it like an app. Back
- Start it at the gun, or set it afterward from another watch or the start time. Each phone measures how far its own clock is off ours whenever it has signal and corrects its taps by that, even where there's no coverage, so a phone that is seconds off doesn't put a runner seconds off. Back
- The middle-school two-mile, the high-school 5K, anything from a mile to 10K. Log other teams' runners too, if you want overall places for your own; races group by meet, boys and girls apart. Back
